Universal Horsepower Parts Under $150

While a vast majority of our readers are Honda Civic drivers, we strive to find solutions for guys that want performance but have a harder time locating aftermarket parts for their car. Let's face it, you could practically build a Civic comprised of all aftermarket parts but let's not forget that there are also a big number of you that have cars with great potential, yet the aftermarket support isn't there. Well for the first time, we have compiled a story that caters to all car owners looking for horsepower. and the best part about it-you can pick up each part for less than $150.
Ground Wires
Ground wire systems are something we have put to the test time and time again. The theory behind them is that they create a lower resistance for a vehicles electrical system. For the most part they can fit on any type of car. Will they work on your particular car? Shoot, they always work for us so try them out!
Voltage Stabilizers
OK, we only know of one as of now but we are sure more companies will catch on. They'll fit on any car and they stabilize voltage at the source: the battery. There are two different applications. One is for more torque and one creates more horsepower.
Spark Plugs
This is a touchy subject in the lines of increasing horsepower. The end result depends on the heat range chosen, spark gap size and the level of engine's horsepower over OEM level. Typically you will have very little gain on engines that aren't heavily modified. Then again it depends on the type of vehicle too. Try them because they're affordable. Warning: some of the manufacturers websites only list factory replacements.
Ignition Related Accessories For the most part, all the products in ignition related components are components we have come across and used that have worked to make horsepower and still fall below $150. Once again, making power out of these products is possible but the application makes a difference.
Mufflers
Mufflers are known to produce horsepower by freeing up exhaust restriction within the factory exhaust system. In most cases, these can be purchased for most popular vehicles in a bolt-on fashion. So what does the average consumer do when a bolt-on system is not offered for their vehicle? Buy a universal one to replace the OEM muffler.

Air Filters
Air Filters play an important role when making power. While their design is really too prevent dirt from entering the engine's air stream, they have been proven to make plenty of power. Most companies today tend to promote air intake systems utilizing open element cone filters but what do you do when a company doesn't make one for your vehicle? This is when you want to find a company that make a universal drop in replacement filter designed to keep dirt out while still make plenty of horsepower.
Adjustable Fuel Regulators
While most universal adjustable fuel pressure regulators run high dollar, the AEM regulator seems to be the least expensive out of the bunch. Mechanically bumping up the fuel pressure can change the whole power curve in a positive way but these types of regulators can only work with an electronic fuel injection system that runs a return line from the fuel rail back too the gas tank.
