1999 Honda Accord - All Show Accord
"I told Esteban I wanted to add some fender flares, an Eclipse gas-tank lid and the front end from the new Lexus SC430. Esteban wasn't fazed, he got started and one month later the car was finished. When I went to pick it up, I was blown away! It looked just like the real Lexus." Check out our pictures if you don't believe; the transformation is stunning. Unrecognizable as an Accord, Lewis Clark's ride stops everybody in their tracks.
Next on the Clark hit list was the interior. Glen at Carcraft Custom Interior was consulted and he came up with an interior scheme to match the slammin' exterior. Gray suede was used throughout and custom, hand-stitched flame accents were added to increase the wow factor. Even the dash was completely recovered in suede, as were the Carisma race-style seats. Details and accessories were highlighted with the same color as the exterior, and the end result is one of the cleanest interiors on the scene.
To compete in the show circuit at the top levels, ya gotta have a radical, loud-ass sound system. Lewis wasn't about to start compromising at this stage. The ICE in Lewis Clark's ride is, naturally, as bad as it gets. An Alpine CVA1000 head unit and EQ is combined with an XTNT 1,000-watt, four-channel amp. MB Quart supplied all speakers. Benny and Mike at Pro Audio Sound in Santa Ana expertly carried out the installation.
With the Accord transformed into a real head-turner, it was now time to install a new set of wheels. Lewis talked to Tony at Lopez Tires and Wheels in Downey, Calif. Tony hooked him up with a set of 19x8.5-in. Masitaly Sagitas which were treated to a set of 225/35ZR-19 Nitto Extreme NT555 tires.
Finally, Lewis turned his attention to the engine compartment. Virtually every under-hood component was removed and chromed or powdercoated. Color-matched hoses were supplied by Hose Techniques, and everything was reassembled with an eye for detail that is reflected throughout the entire car.
A car of this caliber is always a joy to behold. Every little detail has been carefully considered and expertly carried out. Even if Lewis Clark's Accord isn't your thing, you can't help but appreciate the workmanship and execution.
Since the makeover Lewis has been a fixture at shows throughout Southern California and the trophies are rapidly taking up shelf space at the Clark family home. The trophies are proof that in today's show scene it's simply not enough to bolt on a set of wheels and a spoiler, and call it good. The extra effort required to make your car unique is well rewarded, and if anyone ever deserved a "way to go dude," it's Lewis Clark.
Of course, Lewis would like to thank the guys from the Irresistible Show Team for the encouragement and inspiration, as well as his girl for her time and patience
