A large, all-wheel drive car with a V6 engine and all the supporting parts for a twin turbocharger setup can get very heavy. Heavy is bad for handling and stopping, so a few upgrades were in order. Germita added in a set of EBC brake pads to aid in stopping, and TEIN S-Tech springs on Koni dampers to firm up handling. A Cusco rear strut tower bar helps during ambitious cornering. Stock rubber was ditched and instead a set of bronze Black Racing Pro N1 18x9-in rims were added with 265/35R18 Pirelli P7000 rubber providing road stick.
Interior seating and comfort gained a few points with the addition of a set of front Recaro SRD seats in black with red stitching holding the driver in with Takata harnesses. The rear seats also received the royal treatment with a stop by Kreative Auto Interiors. They were bathed in suede and tweed. The dash was altered with a MOMO steering wheel and the insertion of an HKS turbo timer, electronic boost controller and boost gauge. But for a true driver like Germita, the driving experience is about enjoying your car with the engine singing and the tunes blasting as you eat up the road. To blast out the latest hits, J&J Autosounds installed a Clarion VRX835 LCD headunit to replace the stock unit, while Sony Xplod speakers handle the blasting. For show domination, the car is fitted with the standard CD, DVD and Playstation capability. The rear area of the car is dominated by a Modified Automobil Art carbon-fiber enclosure holding four 10-in Sony Xplod subwoofers powered by an Optima red-top battery feeding two 1000W Sony Xplod amps.
With lots of love and work poured in, Germita sought to gain the awards and recognition that his 3000GT was built to procure. With first place finishes at the D1GP car show and at Drift Showoff, and with bigger turbochargers listed as the next necessary modification, Germita has not only brought the 3000GT VR-4 out of the shadows, he has shown what it could be in the hands of a true fan.
