Other additions to the engine bay include a CTR crank pulley; SX fuel pressure regulator; Spoon Sports oil cap, yellow valve cover and carbon Kevlar spark plug cover. The bottom line, according to SP Engineering's Dynojet, is 222 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque at the wheels-no forced induction, no nitrous, just all motor. To help keep the high-strung engine from bucking up out of the engine bay under heavy throttle, Tam also added Energy Suspension motor mount inserts and a Mugen DC2 motor mount kit. Power hits the ground via a 1998-spec ITR transmission and shift linkage set in motion by an ACT clutch assembly and Toda flywheel. To minimize wheelspin, a Kaaz limited-slip differential was installed between the drive wheels.
Beneath the striking yellow panels Tam added Spoon adjustable coil-overs with 14kg front springs and 12kg rears, along with 1998 ITR front and rear anti-roll bars. An array of braces have been incorporated into strategic locations along the chassis, including Spoon tie bars and strut tower braces, a Mr. Alex trunk bar and fender braces, and a J's Racing C pillar bar. He also added Type-R lower control arms in the rear and ARP extended wheel studs at all four corners. GS-R brake assemblies incorporating slotted Brembo rotors were installed up front and rear. Earl's braided lines are used to provide pressure. Mugen RNR wheels, sized 15x6.5 inches, and Yokohama ES100 tires sized 205/50R-15 make up the running gear.
The cockpit was also faithfully revised to match the Spoon EG. The factory carpet was pulled and all sound deadening scraped before the chassis went to paint, so the interior is just as yellow as the outside, with the minor addition of black JDM floor mats. The back seat has been converted to a JDM piece, and the front seats yanked to make way for a set of carbon-Kevlar Spoon seats strapped with Takata harnesses. Mugen pedals and a Spoon steering wheel and shift knob allow driver input. He also added JDM climate controls and a white-faced gauge cluster from a SiR. There is also an Autometer gauge reading exhaust gas temperature. The stereo upgrades consist solely of a Honda Gathers head unit.
