Ashley Sarto

Ashley Sarto proves that when you drive fast, the trip is shorter. This Italian mami hails from a cornfield suburb of Chicago and started modeling at 13 years old. She found a love of fast cars at 15 and a passion for the car scene a year later. With two years of local car show experience, she's found her way to the cover of Import Tuner. She's a simple girl that likes simple things-sushi, cars and a nice pair of jeans. Some might say that's it's her personality and her badunk-ka-dunk, but its really her inviting smile, teasing eyes and her down-home beauty that will lead this Chitown-secret into becoming one of the industry's hottest models.

2nr: You look great. You're so thin!AS: Yeah. But then again, it's hard for me to gain weight. I have a high metabolism. I eat like a horse.

2nr: What's your favorite meal? The last time we talked, you were at a sushi place.AS: Either Italian or sushi. I love asian!

2nr: In about an hour you'll love Pacific Islanders. What's your favorite roll?AS: California roll, but the weirdest thing I've tried is Unagi. I actually liked it. It was good.

2nr: You know what an eel looks like right? Long, thin... slithery.AS: Oh my goodness, yeah!

2nr: You had one in your mouth.AS: It was just a piece of it. I didn't eat the entire eel.

2nr: What's the Italian favorite?AS: I like Gnocchi.

2nr: What?AS: GNOCCHI.

2nr: Bless you!AS: It's like pasta, but they look like a dumpling the size of your thumb and are made out of potatos.

2nr: I'd be thin too if all I ate was eel and thumb-dumplings.

2nr: You are a tall girl. A pair of 4-inch heels puts you at 6-foot even.AS: I wish I were taller, [5-foot-10-inches] would be sweet!

2nr: To keep from bumping noses, you are going to have to find someone at least [6-foot-4-inches]. Then again, bumping noses with you is not a bad thing 'cause you're a looker!AS: It's a must that the guy has to be taller than me, but he doesn't have to be THAT tall. He can be [5-foot-10-inches].

2nr: Or 5 foot 11 like... ME!AS: Maybe! You know, a pair of stilettos won't make me look that much taller.

2nr: The reason being is that your legs would look so phenomenal that no one would notice anyone standing within a 10-foot radius.AS: Exactly.

2nr: Are you happy to leave high school and move on?AS: It's hard for me to say this, but whenever I hear people say "high school is the greatest time of your life," I don't get it. I think there's more.

2nr: Are you involved in school?AS: Not really. I'm not there too much. I have this "medical condition."

2nr: Since when did "intoxicating personality and model-like beauty" become a valid excuse to miss school?AS: I'm not missing school. I'm just not AT school.

2nr: So no winning sweep of Prom Queen and Homecoming Queen titles? That's too bad-you must be the prettiest girl in three counties.AS: No. What's funny is that HIN's Miss Chicago is from Kentucky. I wanted to win that.

2nr: Why don't you try to win Kentucky? You'd be "Miss KY."AS: EW!

2nr: So, you're planning to attend Arizona State this fall, did you decide on a major?AS: Pre-med Biology. My goal is to be a dermatologist. I love skin.

2nr: I think I just love Your skin.

2nr: I understand that you are actually a fan of cars.AS: Yeah. I used to be real active-I ran and played soccer. Now that I don't do that anymore, I had to find something else that gives me that rush. I started when I was a freshman. I like the lines of cars-it excites me.

2nr: I can tell that you like a fast car. What kind of car do you drive?AS: I drive a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It's slow and it has an exhaust leak that makes it sound like it's turbocharged.
