Gusting winds and near freezing temperatures were no match for those who trekked across the globe to attend this year's annual Tokyo Auto Salon. For three days, the Makuhari Mese Convention Center was bursting at the seams, filled with the hottest cars, newest products, and sexiest models Japan had to offer. Leave it to the land of the rising sun to set the newest trends throughout the world as this year it was obvious by the massive display of 350Z products that this V6-powered Japanese sports car was destined to be the savior of the aftermarket performance world, presently dominated by K-cars and compact vans. Companies such as HKS, Jun Auto Mechanic, and Monster Motorsports provided show attendees a glimpse of new products ranging from their VQ35DE stroker kits, camshafts, and full bolt-on turbo kits. Power Enterprise flexed their muscles, marking perhaps the strongest presence at this years TAS, with displays ranging from their debut of the RX6R F-1 IHI Turbine, dog box transmission gears and the Cam Con II now featuring VVTLi capability. Vehicle manufacturers once again used this years TAS to introduce many of the new cars making their way to the showrooms in 2006. Toyota hopes to keep its vehicle line strong as a new rendition of the bB, otherwise known as the Scion xB, displayed a more sleek style in comparison to its pervious boxy look. Subaru also came out swinging as they enticed consumers with a chance to win a limited edition S204 Impreza that happened to be vehicle production number 204. With so much to do and see at the Auto Salon, three days of show filled spectacles is never enough.
