Model Interview Erika Medina

2nr: Finally I get to talk with you. I texted you last night.
Erika Medina: Yeah I know! I'm usually a night owl.
2nr: I even texted "Please."
EM: Awww I know! I'm sorry...that's why I called right now. I woke up and called.

2nr: Water under the bridge. Lets get to it.
2nr: So what did the parents say when you started appearing half naked?
EM: My parents were pretty supportive. They know that I've wanted to do this for a while now. My dad was kinda surprised to see that particular picture...
2nr: You mean the one with your ass hanging out?
EM: He had a talk with me, but since I was not living in their house...well.
2nr: He told you to not piss him off and don't fuck up?
EM: Giggles> NO! I'm a big girl. They know I will make good decisions.

2nr: What was your first job?
EM: Before modeling, I was in the mortgage business.
2nr: That's sexy. So now it's fewer hours. More money?
EM: I don't know about fewer hours. I mean if you add in all the traveling it's a lot of hours, it's a lot of work. It's more than what people think.
2nr: How about fun work, good money?
EM: Yes. I would agree with that.
2nr: If you didn't model where would you be?
EM: I would probably be still at my old job. But I could be a little bit of a businesswoman. I like to be hands-on and I'm like a sponge in that I like to learn. I catch on to things pretty quickly and I like to be involved in the things I do.
2nr: What would you say is your biggest talent?
EM: I would say that, right now, modeling is my biggest talent.

2nr: If you could pick any city that HIN could go to, where would like to go?
EM: I'd love to go to Europe or Africa.
2nr: Whoa. Africa is not the typical place.
EM: I love traveling and I like seeing exotic things. I like to take in the culture and the different ways of living.
2nr: You don't seem to be the stereotypical model that us guys see at the shows. What do you think makes you different?
EM: I'm very open-minded and I love to interact with people. One thing I do is personally answer my Myspace messages. Sometimes the person gets back to me and asks if it's really me.
2nr: You should have a manager doing that for you.
EM: NO, I answer my own stuff! When I travel I take my laptop with me. I like to see what the fans have to say.

2nr: What's the hardest part in modeling so far?
EM:
2nr: Or is it that you are still "brand new" and so all of this is still pretty fun?
EM: I think that when you are meant to do something it just comes naturally. In my case, thank God, that it IS the case. I'd like to think that all of these things that's happened so far is a blessing. I'm glad that I feel like I'm knocking them dead at the shows and haven't found some thing about modeling that's really hard.
2nr: I'm sure guys hit you up whenever you are out on tour.
EM: Yeah. But when I'm working, I'm working. I mean...I'm on the clock.
2nr: So what type of guy is the type that would make you get you off the clock?
EM: I love Justin Timberlake but I know that that's not going to happen! I like a guy that has a sense of humor and is spontaneous-I love surprises-he's got to appreciate the little things. He's got to be romantic, and uh...of course you have to be cute. I know that people think I'm weird for this but... uh... ... I kinda like big guys.
2nr: Excuse me?
EM: I'm into the big boys.
2nr: Like "muscular" big? Or you like the chubby?
EM: I like the chubbies! I don't know what it is!
2nr: Shut up. You shut your face.
EM: I swear!
2nr: I think Fat Joe is so hot!
EM: People think I'm weird. They're like, "WHAT?" I don't know. I think that he's really cute. He's a big guy but he's not "BIG" big. He's lost weight.
2nr: Sweetie. What do you mean he's not "BIG" big. He's big. Period.
EM: Well he's not like 1500 pounds. Now THAT'S big.
2nr: 1500 pounds is "big" to big people. Then you would like that character on Entourage...
EM: Turtle?!
2nr: Freak.
2nr: I need to confess. You know how you have a thing for the big guy? I have a thing for girls that have fangs. But not like vampire-type tusks, just little cute ones.
EM: REALLY! I have that! I'm looking in the mirror right now.
2nr: I know.
